About Us
Pioneering Continental Trade
Founded in 2022, Igire Continental Trading Company Ltd made history by facilitating Rwanda’s first commercial trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area’s Guided Trade Initiative. We are the first company appointed by the Ministry of Trade and Commerce in Rwanda and subsequently certified by the AfCFTA Secretariat as the official AfCFTA trading company in Rwanda. Since then, we have been at the forefront of continental trade, demonstrating that AfCFTA can work for businesses of all sizes.
Our name “Igire” means “self-reliance” in Kinyarwanda, reflecting our commitment to empowering Rwandan businesses to stand on their own in continental markets. We believe that economic independence comes through trade, and we work every day to make that vision a reality.
